Welcome! I see that curiosity got the better of you. I like that :-). Again, this post is not for the shy or the faint-hearted so don't say I haven't warned you lol.
It's widely known that cupcakes have that image of being cute, colourful and mostly very feminine little treats. This is about to change, well, at least today ;-).
As I mentioned on my FB page, last week Saturday was the Gay Pride Brussels 2016 which meant that I had to take the opportunity and bake for the occasion. Besides the "accidentally" very tall rainbow cake I made for my nephew(it turned out to be 15cm/6" high) and a mini heart-shaped rainbow cake I made something a little bit more... Interesting.
Every year, around this time a good friend of mine gives a Gay Pride party. Starting around midday and going on till the early morning he wanted to nourish as well as "entertain" his guests. He asked me to make some vitamin-packed carrot cupcakes, with organic carrots, apple, walnuts, cinnamon (hence the nourishing part) but with all that goodness, came a little naughty twist.
I was asked to add some "adult-themed" cupcakes toppers. He was very specific and I got the full "artistic freedom" to do what I want, so I did ;-) ...lol
As this was my first time making such a very "intimate" design, I started creating my toppers in a more funny/cartoonish way. But remembering him asking, explicitly, to make them as realistic as possible I had to start all over again...
Using different colours of fondant (sugar paste), sculpting tools as well a wide imagination, those little edible beauties were born :-)!!
Are you ready?
Here we go ...
A little blurry preview to prepare you for the main act :-)..
Things are about to get sharper now ...
Can we take a minute and admire the "little" details here? ;-)
Wouldn't this be such a show stopper at a Bachelorette Party?
With whom would you like to share this box of delicious totally edible goodies?
One thing I know for sure, snacking on one of those is way safer than snacking on the real thing, what do you think ;-) lol?
A little bit about me
